Because Symantec pays them to do so. The Ad business is amazing. Look what
ads did for Google. PC Magazine is part of a publishing empire which runs
Symantec ads in a large number of publications.
There is big money in this business.
Four years ago, McAfee made $220 million of of their product, and they are
nothing compared to Symantec. This security business is a cash cow for the
computer industry...
And amazingly so... when you see how the screw up things, and don't even
have a way for people to complain or get their money back.
There is no truth in advertising or publishing, and very little regulation
of the printed word in relationship to the advertised word. Who watches
over them besides Consumer Reports..
