On an X32, I used the software that came with it to create
the system restore disks (one CD and one DVD; with different
models others have written that you end up with 7 disks, I can
only tell you my own experience!). If you're nervous, create
two copies, or restore to a fresh HD. I used a fresh (and
larger!) HD, and was able to partition it using a linux live
boot CD and gparted / gpart-d / gpartd ?
Once you are sure that your restore disks work, you can delete
the maintenance partition. Again, AFAIR, I used a linux boot.
It's not easy (? possible?) to delete the maintenance partition
in Windoz. At this point you could use some linux tool to
resize the NTFS C: drive, but I was happy with 5 GB (the size
of the former maintenance partition) for my FAT32 D: drive. So
I just formatted that space.
