I am considering buying a new ThinkPad. I *must* have it by the end of
2007. But I won't actually be back in the U.S. to pick it up until 21
December or so. Given current shipping times when do I need to buy it by
to get it by the end of the year? Should I just buy it now? Or is it too
late entirely? I've heard of some bad delays earlier this year, but
maybe that has cleared up.
I had another few questions on options:
Wireless card. I have three choices:
* ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ
[subtract $4.25]
* Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
* Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN (supporting Centrino Pro) [add
$34.00]
Any reason to prefer one over another?
Graphics. I don't game and I intend to install XP. I assume that I
should get integrated graphics.
Memory. Should I get the least memory available and then replace it all
aftermarket? It looks like their RAM is really expensive.
