That's right. The BIOS is limited to whatever 2^32 * 512 bytes is.

Hmm. You'd be on your own for that experiment. At the time of the 8GB
limit, drive makers came out with software to make the drives work. I
haven't heard of anything for this barrier, but I haven't looked for any
either.
Please do keep us all informed if you try to get a huge drive working in
your 600E/X!
