No, that should work. What some of us have had trouble with is using
Acronis (or other image software) to do all the formatting/recovery of a
disk image onto a new, unformatted HD, either with the new disk in the
target machine or using a second computer system to do the recovery.
The result is often unbootable, even after trying all the "make an
unbootable Windows disk bootable" solutions that are out there.
