IBM or the maker of the video chipset may have a utility available to
provide that functionality. I know Dell does for the M65 I use at work.
   Check out the software available at the IBM/Lenovo site.
Alternatively, you can look into a variety of 'icon position' utilities
that you could add. Another tool that I use that provides this feature
is UltraMon. UltraMon is primarily a tool to support multiple monitors
and multiple display profiles. It does have a 'save icon position' and
'restore icon position' feature.
