Hello,

If your goal is to clean up the PC, I would suggest that you download
the latest versions of all the software for your T43 (drivers from Lenovo
or elsewhere, applications, utilities and so forth) and have them ready
for installation before removing the 40GB hard disk drive from your T43.

Depending on the software you use, that could just be a single CD or
several DVDs worth of downloaded software. Or maybe just a USB key or
two.

For software which requires license keys, you should have those ready
to type in as well.

One thing you might want to do is get a USB external enclosure for your
"old" 40GB hard disk drive. That way if there are any data files you
need, you can copy them over from the old hard disk drive to the new one.
