[Thinkpad] Two T-20 Problems

Two small T-20 problems...

I recently changed the system board in my T-20. Occasionally, on
startup, the system boots and automatically goes to the system setup
page.
Each time it has done that, I notice that the date and time need to be
reset. I set these, hit save command and then it reverts to the XP
Professional OS.

I thought that I might try installing the latest BIOS for this computer
but then, having done so, that did not fix the problem.

Any ideas?

Second issue...

Prior to installing the new board, my T-20 squealed when the microphone
was not muted. Installing the new board did not rectify this problem.
Like the previous issue, this doesn't happen all the time but when it
does occur, it is quite annoying. Similarly, I have tested the
microphone and it works.

Again, any ideas?
