Windows 2.x - Better
Windows 3.0 - Lost the mark
Windows 3.1 - Better Windows NT 3.1 - Rough Start
                                                  Windows NT 3.51 - better
Windows 95 - not great Windows NT 4.0 - Much Better esp. w/sp6
Windows 98 - Better
Windows ME - sucked Windows 2000 - Much Much Better

Windows XP (original cut) - not great
Windows XP SE - better
 
Vista - reports not great at all
Vista SE - jury not picked yet
 
None of the above could be considered great.
 
But if history says anything Vista SE may not be too bad. However with the luggage it has right now I would not hold my breath.

Hi All,

As I consider the purchase of a new laptop, I wonder what the current
thought is on choice of Op. System.

Should one really order it with XP because Vista appears to be so bad
and without additional merit?
