This is the entire portable computing history for us:

IBM PC Convertible

Toshiba (DOS machine, 2 or 4 meg? smallish hard drive, mono screen with
limited graphics)

[Thinkpad 600] Wrong. It was some form of 755.

Currently: T60

I have a friend who has bought all the castoffs except the Convertible.
The T23 came from Bruce, as did a T43 and another T60; both for June grads
this year to haul off to college.
