Desertech:
"WXPP works fine on T-23, but you really need 512 MB of memory for best
results. They vary a bit depending on the quality and density of chips
on
the module, but in general you can get both to work up to 1 GB in two
512 mb
modules.
Officially, the Type 2647 is limited to 512 MB in two 256 MB modules,
whereas the Type 2648 will accept up to 1024 or two 512 MB modules"
I had a 2647 T23 w/ XP and had it working on one 256 and one 512 and it
ran perfectly!
As for getting it to XP - Buy a copy of XP-P for the license and get
your hands on an XP Restore CD set. This is the least pain free way of
doing the upgrade. If you cannot get the restore CDs - install XP from
the box - then continue as follows. (This method requires a bit more
downloading of some basic files from Lenovo before you get started with
their software. Lenovo has some documentation on this on their site.)
Get SP2 off Microsoft's web site and install - then let Windows update
do the rest - if you have a High-Speed connection.
Install Software Update from Lenovo - and install. Let it run and do
it's thing. After a bit, you will have a fully updated XP T23! I've
been doing that for the three years I had my T23.
