In Network Connections (W2K)

 - the Cisco wifi card interface is active; I highlight
 
 - the ethernet card interface is Xd. I highlight anyway

 - then I right click for properties on the active interface
   all options are grayed out

 - I retry by first setting ethernet card to fixed ip address 192.168.0.1

 - it is still Xd out, and result when selecting Cisco wifi icon is that
   all options are still grayed out

 - no 'bridge' option appears anywhere i can find
