Paul,

If by secondary you mean in the media bay, I travel with a battery in
the media bay all the time. If you have additional spare batteries,
they have to be in carry-on luggage - can't be checked. No plastic bag
is necessary. Don't forget that laptops have to come out of your bag
and be scanned separately from everything else (in its own plastic
bin) at security. Since a lot of laptops look similar, I've taped a
business card to the bottom of my laptop, and put it through the
scanner with the business card facing up. Another hint is to put all
of your other electronics (phone, PDA, etc.) in your carry-on bag
before reaching security - fewer things that you have to remember to
get out of your pockets during the rush. And your outer coat or jacket
and shoes have to come off, so you might want to wear loafers or other
shoes that are easy to slip on and off. And don't forget to put all of
your liquids, creams, and pastes (none larger than 3 fl. oz.) in a
single 1 quart zip-loc plastic bag for scanning. This also has to come
out of your bag and be put into a plastic bin, so keep it easily
accessible.

Save travels,
Andy
