Which might expand one's idea of what a still camera does.
My wife and I are happy with a Canon A720, whose biggest
strength is macro (close-up) shots of the flowers in the
garden. That's why we bought the camera.

But Plan C for someone with the thrifty values of JR ... would
be to mention an interest in digital photography to any friend
who is a bit of a gadgeteer. The friend will probably have at
least 4 digicams, 3 in a closet, and offer to give him one.
