Yeah, thought of that, but this particular drive has an IDE plug, the t60
I'm running has SATA (as does the 2nd hdd ultrabay adapter).

You may have more luck working with the drive in the Ultrabay instead of
from an external USB adapter. The USB hookups always seem more finicky and
problematic than running a drive inside the unit.
The harsh reality though is that if it has gotten to that point you may not
get anything further off of it.
