It looks like the test giving the "duplicate internal definitions" error is bombing on a case that MIT-Scheme would handle correctly. I think that MIT-Scheme should behave identically for both expressions. I agree, although this is a pretty small nit to pick. I am not yet sure how to fix it -- the problem appears to be the result of several things colluding. But I'll work on it. Van Dyke" I have a semi-portable library written in R5RS + SRFI-6 + SRFI-23, and would like to tell people how to use it with MIT Scheme. Are there SRFI packages or conventions for MIT Scheme to which I can direct people? MIT Scheme already supports SRFI-23. It doesn't yet have support for SRFI-6, although that is trivial since the procedures already exist with different names. On the other hand, MIT Scheme doesn't fully support R5RS, specifically, the EVAL procedure in R5RS, and the required separation of #f and '(). There may be a few other minor issues. If you don't depend on the unsupported features of R5RS, SFRI-6 can be supported using: (DEFINE OPEN-INPUT-STRING STRING->INPUT-PORT) (DEFINE OPEN-OUTPUT-STRING MAKE-ACCUMULATOR-OUTPUT-PORT) (DEFINE GET-OUTPUT-STRING GET-OUTPUT-FROM-ACCUMULATOR) I'll get these equivalences into release 7.7.2.
