Today  (after many  tests :)  I'm sure  the driver  does not  depends on
2.4.18-6mdk kernel.

I'm using it with 2.4.18-bf2 from woody and 2.4.18 vanilla, without your
problems.

Look  at   list-archives  (July-2002/Aug-2002).  I   remember  something
similar.
