No, it only can reformatting the hibernation partition if you accidentally
destroy it. In this case all other partitions are untouched.

There is no statndard group in us symbol set. See
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/us for proper values.

I use synaptics driver for X, so I cant send them to you. Here is my
gpm-syn.conf:
[use_wmode] Y
[edge_motion_enabled] N
[edge_motion_speed_enabled] N
[corner_taps_enabled] N
[taps_enabled] Y
[pressure_speed_enabled] N
[tossing_enabled] N
[does_toss_use_static_speed] Y
[low_pressure] 60
[speed_up_pressure] 60
[pressure_factor] 0.10
[standard_speed_factor] 0.10
[min_toss_time] 100
[max_toss_time] 300
[toss_cleanup_time] 300
[min_toss_dist] 2
[static_toss_speed] 70
[toss_speed_factor] 0.5
[edge_speed] 20
[upper_left_action] 3
[upper_right_action] 0
[lower_left_action] 2
[lower_right_action] 0
Note: To use middle button, I had to update my gpm to version 1.19.6.
[use_wmode] Y is important to use these buttons. Additionally there is a
bug in gpm: you can not use tabs in config file, only spaces to separate
fields and values.

Good news :).
