[Omnibook] Battery and AC adapter (was: hi about omnibook s)

I've a worse (if possible...) problem: 

some days ago, i saw the power led going off and on when touching the AC-adapter's plug.

Now my XE3-GF battery is completely out of charge, and the adapter doesn't work more... :-(

I asked HP. They told me the motherboard is to be replaced (as the AC circuit is embedded on mb), which "it isn't worth".

Anyone has the same problem and can tell if home repairing is possible?

I got a question about the Omnibook xe GF,  my battery died and wouldn't charge so I bought another one and it wont charge ether it just looses power.   Could this be the internal power supply and if so is it replacable?
