[OmniBook] Problem with RAM

Hello,

I have an HP Omnibook xe 4500 (P4 1,6Ghz with 256MB RAM (PC2100 DDR 266) - Model KB). I want to upgrade my RAM to 768MB (256+512). 
In one store they told me that 512Mb for an HP would have to be a special memory (about 104 Euros), because the others may have incompatibility problems. In another store they told me thar any PC2100 DDR 266 chip will work very well (70 euros).

Can someone help me with your experience?
