Hi, after trying a few times to install Slackware 10.1 on an Omnibook
600c (486 DX 50), I finally gave up and jumped to another distribution
(based on slack 7.1), DeLi 0.6.1. Everything, except the pop-up mouse,
is working fine.
DeLi uses kernel 2.2.26. I was wondering what the best way is to get
the mouse working. I know I should probably compile the obmouse.c
(nicely made available by Grunt Grundler -
ftp://gsyprf10.external.hp.com/kernels/ob600/), but I don't have free
space in the hard drive to install the kernel source. Does anyone know
if there is an easier way to accomplish this?
Anyway, if the source is the only solution, do I need to compile it in
a system with a 2.2.26 kernel, and with the same version of gcc
(2.9.something, I think)? Is it possible to make a obmouse.o in my
Ubuntu desktop system?
And another question (the last one!) - should I use obmouse.c 0.6 or
0.7? I was thinking maybe 0.7 only works with a 2.4 kernel.
Thanks in advance.
